Some of the films I saw were truly spectacular. One called “Fiberglass and Megapixels” struck a nerve based on my early years of surfing. I started in 1937 on my first paddleboard, which I built in junior high school.

Reef McIntosh has been a fixture on the North Shore for decades. The Kauai local is known for charging huge waves and having a great outlook on life. Reef is a member of the Quiksilver ohana and is a valuable mentor to the young guns on the team when they come to the North Shore.
Aamion is from Kauai and developed his professional career on Oahu's North Shore as a Pipeline specialist. As a pro “free surfer”, Aamion was paid to travel the world and surf many exotic locations.
Roy Powers from Kauai, a former World Championship Tour surfer who made his mark by winning the 2007 Reef Hawaiian Pro at Hale’iwa Ali’i Beach Park on the North Shore of Oahu in epic conditions.
Pierre Tostee from South Africa is a surfer, photographer and journalist who has the unique distinction of being the only competitor to get struck by lightning during a World Championship Tour event.
