Nalu TV FAQ
Nalu TV is pay-per-view: no subscription. Rent or buy a film and stream it on your phone, computer or tablet, or cast it to your TV. Here are the questions we get most.
Watching
What is Nalu TV?
Nalu TV streams over 200 classic surf, longboard, bodyboard and snowboard films, restored from the original masters and presented with the filmmakers who shot them. You pay per film, with no subscription.
What's the difference between renting and buying?
Rent a film to watch it for 3 days.
Buy a film to keep it in your Nalu library and stream it any time.
How do I watch a film after I order?
Right after checkout, tap Watch Your Purchased Nalu Film Now. You'll also get an email from ride@nalu.tv with a link to the film.
Any time later, log in to your account with your email. Your films are under My Nalu Movie Library.
How do I watch a film again?
Log in to your account. Every film you've bought is listed in My Nalu Movie Library.
Can I watch on my TV?
Yes. Start the film, then tap the AirPlay or Cast icon in the video player. Your phone or computer and your TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
iPhone and iPad: AirPlay from any browser or the Nalu TV app.
Mac: AirPlay from Safari, or Chromecast from Chrome.
Android, or Chrome on any computer: Chromecast.
Can I download a film?
Not yet. Films stream online only. We plan to add downloads for offline viewing in the future.
What's the best way to watch on my phone?
Save nalu.tv to your home screen and it opens like an app.
iPhone: open nalu.tv in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Android: open nalu.tv in Chrome, tap the menu, then Add to Home screen.
The films
Are the films restored?
Yes. We restore every film from the original master. How good a film looks depends on the quality of that master, so some look better than others. Searching for Tom Curren and Many Classic Moments were fully remastered.
Are there free films?
Yes, 40 of them. Browse the free films.
If I buy a film, do I own it?
You get the right to stream the film on Nalu TV any time, for personal use. The film itself stays © its filmmaker and Nalu TV.
