In 1998, internet access was still spreading globally, and DVDs were beginning to replace VHS as the dominant home video format. Bodyboarding films were also quite rare during this time. Back then, "old school" was synonymous with "new school." When "Sixth Sense" was first released, it did not achieve worldwide success, despite its innovative use of 16mm footage and unique film angles. However, today, Scott Aichner's work can be appreciated in a new light. "Sixth Sense" is, in fact, a remarkable documentary about bodyboarding in the 1990s, and it reminds us that we are always learning from the past
