Soul Patrol (1997) — Pacific Longboarder Video Magazine, Vol. 1. Filmed and Directed by Chris Bystrom
Thirty-eight years in the making, Soul Patrol mixes classic surfaris and comedy skits from 1959 to 1997. Join Soul Patrolmen Bonga Perkins, Kanoa Dahlin and Sion Milosky as they take apart an epic day at Haleiwa in November 1997, and ride along on that year's longboard tour Down Under during some of the best swells of the past twenty years.
From the archives: the first surf safari ever filmed at Angourie in 1962 and the world's first professional surfing contest at Manly in 1964. Add some of the hottest water angles ever filmed and you'll see why longboarding is here to stay. The reason? Like James Brown says, it's got soul.
