The Hawaiian winter of 1991–92 went down in surfing history as a vintage year for waves, and Chris Bystrom was there for all of it. A young Kelly Slater blasts onto the pro scene, Pipeline champion Tom Carroll shows off his newest moves, and Johnny Boy Gomes, Luke Egan and surfing's ultimate bad boy Liam McNamara charge from the front line. Christian Fletcher and Matt Archbold bring California's aerial attack.
Much of the action is shot up close from the water, with a HiFi stereo soundtrack by The Cruel Sea, Falling Joys, Ed Kuepper, Caligula, Celibate Rifles, Clouds, Boxcar, Aints, Crystal Set, Bob Sattler, Big Drill Car and the Neptunes.
